Terminated
So… I was fired yesterday. That was exciting. Evidently shit occasionally runs laterally as well… Ususally when your boss doesn’t like you anyway. A co-worker cashed a check not drawn on my bank, to a non-customer. The check ended up being fraudulent. I had my own customer at the time. Now, because said teller waved the check in the air from down the teller line and said “Should I just charge the ten dollar fee?”, and I said “Sure”, not even looking at the check, assuming she knew her job.
Anyway, evidently this is a fireable offense, despite the fact I have heard of other employees doing far worse things, losing far more money for the bank, and only getting a PIP (Performance Improvement Plan).
So, there it is. I am terminated because of someone else’s mistake. Se la vi, I suppose. Nancy, I am sure, has had it in for me for a while now, and really was just looking for any excuse. I am not sure what I did initially to make her opinion of me go that way. Personally I feel that Nancy is not happy unless she has someone to constantly hen-peck and criticize. She did it to a previous employee. I guess I was just her next target.
So, in short, I am angry and jobless. This blog will be a rant-fest and a journal about my efforts to become a working man again. I am going to the unemployment office tomorow. For some reason I never thought I’d do that in my lifetime.
The good news is that my family seems to be very supportive and understanding. My wife, especially, has been a source of strength and support the past couple of days.
